Self-Guided Hard Adventure Tours

If you feel like going it on your own and want to set a different pace try one of these outings.

1) Banff to Jasper Cycle Tour

This is your chance to ride the “most beautiful Road in the World”. You leave Banff; ride West 60K along the 1A road (very little traffic, lots of wildlife) to the junction with Highway #93 North. From here you head North on this designated Scenic Route, not a transportation corridor – no large trucks. (There will be Cars, RV’s, Sightseeing Buses Cyclists, and lots of wildlife!) The road runs 230 K from here into the Town of Jasper. Along the way such view points as Bow Glacier and Bow Lake, Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake and Bow Summit, Mt. Saskatchewan, Sunwapta Pass and the Columbia Icefields, Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca Falls, Whirlpool Valley and Whistlers Mountain. (And that is just some of the spots to see!)

You can download the copy of the Map with Points of Interest from our website (Distances, Camping Grounds, Hostels, Motels and food and beverage availability all are marked.) and you can also download the copy of the relief map to see the elevation rise and fall you will be traversing.( This is a Mountain Route and there is some climbing to do!) A wondrous 3 or 4 day trip in the heart of the Rockies at your own pace and time table.

Special Road/Tour Bikes available for rent. Tag a Long Trailers with Water Proof Covers also available for rent. BIKE DROP OFF: Bikes can dropped off with our partners in Jasper and for $100.00/bike they will be packed and shipped back to Banff. Reserve ahead for this Tour and bring your camera!


2) Back Country Shuttle and Ride

Price: $94.95/person (includes bike for the day and transportation to the Trail Head)
Duration: 2.5 - 3.5 hours

Van Shuttle to the trailhead for a Self Guided Ride along the back flank of Rundle Mountain from the Goat Creek Trail head, Whiteman’s Pass, in Canmore ending up right back in Banff. The Bike is yours for the Day!


3) Storm Mountain Breakfast Cruise

Price: $94.95/person (2 person minimum bike fit at 9:00 AM depart by Van 9:15 AM – 48 hours Notice to Book/cancel)

Self Guided: 2 person minimum – Van Shuttle to Storm Mountain Lodge, delicious breakfast and outstanding mountain views and fresh air. A Self Guided Downhill coast back to Castle Mountain Junction and Chalets, water up and then a 30K ride on the 1A passing Moose Meadows, Johnston’s Canyon and Muleshoe on the way back to Banff. Tour takes 2 to 3 hours to complete. Bike is yours for the day!

Guided Option: $130.00/person 6-person minimum to run the tour guided. Follows the same route as above with your own Guide for Interpretive talks and/or a hiking option. This option can take up to 5 hours. The Bike is yours for the Day!


4) Sunshine to Banff Mountain Bike Ride

Price: $54.95/person (Departure from rear of Mt. Royal Hotel at 8:15 AM 48 - hour Notice to Book/Cancel)

Arrange with us at  The Ski Stop to get your bike selection and fitting done in advance of the tour. Then you can meet the Van at the Pick Up Point. You will be transported to the Sunshine Village Gondola Base where you off load the bike. From here it is a downhill cruise on the access road 10K to the Healy Creek Parking Lot and Pull Out. You turn off at the Parking Lot and cross the foot bridge to start on the Healy Creek Trail, which is a combination of Single Track and Fire Road for 8K to ride back to Banff. The trail ends at the intersection with the Sundance Canyon paved route. You can ride up to the canyon or descend the trail back along the river and into Banff. The Bike is yours for the Day! (An option exists to combine a Hike on the Sunshine Meadows and the Ride back to Banff – Please enquire with us!)
